Why use this
Fast, private, and free.
- MozJPEG encoding gives you smaller files than a standard JPEG at the same quality.
- Target-size mode gets you under 200 KB on its own.
- Convert to WebP or AVIF for photos that are 30 to 50 percent smaller.
- Batch, resize, and grab a ZIP, all with nothing uploaded.
FAQ
Good to know.
What quality should I use for JPEG?
For web photos, 75 to 82 is the sweet spot. It looks the same as the original to your eye but weighs a lot less. Use the before and after slider on any image you are unsure about.
Can I compress a JPEG to a specific size?
Yes. Switch to Target size mode, type a value like 150 KB, and the tool tunes the quality until the file lands just under it.
Is EXIF and location data removed?
Always. Re-encoding a JPEG strips out every piece of metadata, including GPS coordinates and camera information.
